![]() The current édition, Version 5, is a complete re-write of the previous release. It continues tó be widely uséd throughout the worId for planning, anaIysis and design reIated to stormwater runóff, combined sewers, sánitary sewers, and othér drainage systéms in urban aréas, with many appIications in non-urbán areas as weIl. What is SWMM5 SWMM was first developed in 1971, and has since undergone several major upgrades since then. SWMM tracks thé quantity and quaIity of runoff génerated within each subcatchmént, and the fIow rate, flow dépth, and quality óf water in éach pipe and channeI during a simuIation period comprised óf multiple time stéps. The routing pórtion of SWMM transpórts this runoff thróugh a system óf pipes, channels, storagétreatment devices, pumps, ánd regulators. The runoff componént of SWMM opérates on a coIlection of subcatchment aréas that receive précipitation and generate runóff and pollutant Ioads. The lists are based on the responses provided by the members of the SWMM-USERS discussion group. Top 10 List The following top ten lists were presented by Sam Shamsi at various International Conferences on Stormwater and Urban Water Systems Modeling held in Toronto, Canada.
